Why Astro?
Well my initial choice was NextJS, because I just knew a lot about it and it is also really SEO-friendly, but while working with it I started noticing it was not as fast as I would like it, so I decided it was time to learn a new framework: Astro. I got the idea to use Astro because it is supposed to be really fast for static sites(like an blog for example).
Getting started…
I really didn’t know where to start. I took a short astro crash course on youtube to help me get started, but still I wasn’t able to actually come up with a main concept on how a blog should look like, because most of the blogs I know are either really plain or are outdated… until I came across Brutal Theme Template by ElianCodes. And I actually really liked it, so I decided to use it. While looking through the code I realised this was actually a fully fledged blog, instead of just a frontend template, which streamlined the development process and by the end of the day I was already finished.
Conclusion
I think I didn’t have many problems with it and the end result was very fast website. I am still trying to figure out small things the give it a better position at Google Search Bot…but other than that it was a really good experience.
